Silent Running

After creating many of the innovative special effects for 2001: A Space Odyssey, Douglas Trumbull tried his hand at directing, and 1971's Silent Running marked an impressive debut.

William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet

This brilliant and contemporary retelling of the world's most tragic love affair makes this wildly inventive "Romeo & Juliet" unforgettable. This special edition DVD contains audio commentary by Baz Luhrmann, early rehearsal scenes and an inside look at the making of the movie. Baz Lurhrmann's dazzling and unconventional adaptation of William Shakespeare's classic love story is spellbinding. Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes portray Romeo and Juliet, the youthful star-crossed lovers of the past.

RoboCop

A sadistic crime wave is sweeping across America. In Old Detroit, the situation is so bad a private corporation, Security Concepts, Inc., has assumed control of the police force. The executives at the company think they have the answer - until the enforcement droid they create kills one of their own. Then an ambitious young executive seizes the opportunity. He and his research team create a law enforcement cyborg from the body of a slain officer. They program RoboCop to: 1. Serve the public trust. 2. Uphold the law. 3. Protect the innocent. All goes well at first.

Rear Window

Confined to his small courtyard apartment by a broken leg, photojournalist L.B. Jeffries (James Stewart) passes the time between visits from his nurse (Thelma Ritter) and his girlfriend Lisa (Grace Kelly) by watching his neighbors with his binoculars through the rear window of his room. When Jeffries thinks he sees one of his neighbors murder his invalid wife and dispose of her body, he convinces Lisa to investigate. One of Alfred Hitchcock's greatest masterpieces of suspense.

Rat Race

Modeled after 1963's It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Jerry Zucker's Rat Race lacks the irreverence of Zucker's 1980 hit Airplane! but has enough chuckles to make it an agreeable time-killer. Like Mad, Mad, Mad..., it employs a huge ensemble of comedy stalwarts, assembled by an eccentric hotelier (pearly-toothed John Cleese) to race from Las Vegas to New Mexico for a $2 million jackpot.

Quatermass 2

During a routine drive to his observatory, Professor Quatermass (Brian Donlevey) stumbles upon a mysterious government facility surrounded by guards and mines. Curious of this unusual site, Quatermass begins to investigate and discoversia remarkably large number of meteors in the area. As his investigation comes to a turning point, Quatermass comes to a horrific conclusion: alien invaders. The ensuing danger could mean the end of human civilization!

Quatermass And The Pit

The thriller that began five million years ago in another world has come to earth! A London subway excavation abruptly halts when construction workers find a cluster of prehistoric skulls and skeletons. Anthropologist Dr. Roney (James Donald), his assistant Barbara Judd (Barbara Shelley), andispace expert Professor Quatermass (Andrew Keir) are driven by curiosity and dig deeper to discover a "strange" missile that is not of this earth.

Once Upon A Time In The West

The so-called spaghetti Western achieved its apotheosis in Sergio Leone's magnificently mythic (and utterly outlandish) Once upon a Time in the West. After a series of international hits starring Clint Eastwood (from A Fistful of Dollars to The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly), Leone outdid himself with this spectacular, larger-than-life, horse-operatic epic about how the West was won.
