Role:

Analyze That

They locked up mob boss Paul Vitti in Sing Sing and that's where he sang sang- croaking tunes from Westside Story and carrying on in a way that convinces the feds Vitti is better suited for the nut house than the Big House. Better yet, they conclude, let's release Vitti into the custody of his therapist Ben Sobel. The boys are back and so is the fun when Robert De Niro (Vitti) and Billy Crystal (Sobel) reprise their Analyze This roles. This time, Vitti is ready to find gainful employment and go straight. Or so he says.

Raging Bull

Martin Scorsese's brutal black-and-white biography of self-destructive boxer Jake LaMotta was chosen as the best film of the 1980s in a major critics' poll at the end of the decade, and it's a knockout piece of filmmaking. Robert De Niro plays LaMotta (famously putting on 50 pounds for the later scenes), a man tormented by demons he doesn't understand and prone to uncontrollably violent temper tantrums and fits of irrational jealousy. He marries a striking young blond (Cathy Moriarty), his sexual ideal, and then terrorizes her with never-ending accusations of infidelity.

Another Stakeout

A comic battle of wills and an outrageous test of endurance ensues when this trio is grudgingly assigned to keep vigil -- as unobtrusively as possible -- in a small, upscale resort community. Pretending to be an average American family on vacation, it's an unlikely domestic arrangement at best. But, like a typical family, they're stuck with one another.
