Role:

Rocketman

As flashy and colorful as it's subject, this musical biopic chronicles the early life and career of Reginald Dwight, better known to the world as Elton John (played brilliantly by Taron Egerton). Visually stunning performances of some of Elton's best-loved songs are used to tell the story of a rise to rock and roll greatness that includes addiction, depression and complex personal and professional relationships.

You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger

It doesn't take a Nostradamus to see that the interconnected lives in Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger are going to be troubled indeed--and yet the clairvoyant hired by newly divorced Helena (Gemma Jones) fails to predict the complications to come. Well, then there wouldn't be a movie, would there? Helena's restless old goat of an ex-husband, Alfie (Anthony Hopkins), has taken up with a loud hooker (Lucy Punch, Dinner for Schmucks), who he somehow believes to be his dream girl.

Sense And Sensibility

Emma Thompson scores a double bull's-eye with this marvelous adaptation of Jane Austen's novel. Not only does Thompson turn in a strong (and gently humorous) performance as one of the Dashwood sisters--the one with "sense"--she also wrote the witty, wise screenplay. Austen's tale of 19th-century manners and morals provides a large cast with a feast of possibilities, notably Kate Winslet, in her pre-Titanic flowering, as Thompson's deeply romantic sister.

Shanghai Knights

Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson jump back in the saddle for Shanghai Knights, the hilarious sequel to the hit action-comedy Shanghai Noon. When Chon Wang (Chan) gets news of his estranged father's murder in Shanghai, he leaves his honorable life as Carson City's sheriff in a cloud of dust and reunites with his yarn-spinning sidekick, Roy O'Bannon (Wilson). Together they make their way to London on a daring quest for honor and revenge. Hilarious escapades and hair-raising adventures ensue as our heroes find themselves in the middle of a devious plot to eliminate the entire royal family.

Bridget Jones's Diary

This hilarious romantic comedy is the story of Bridget Jones (Renee Zellweger), a 32 year old "singleton" who decides to take control of her life by keeping a diary. With a taste for adventure and an opinion on every subject--from her circle of friends, to men, food, sex and everything in between--she's decided to turn the page on a whole new life. Despite her efforts to get her act together, she finds herself caught between two men--Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant), a man who's too good to be true, and Marc Darcy (Colin Firth), a man who's so wrong for her, he could be right.
