Joe Satriani

Role:

The Ritchie Blackmore Story

Ritchie Blackmore is beyond doubt one of the all-time great guitar players. From his pop roots with The Outlaws and his many session recordings in the sixties, through defining hard rock with Deep Purple and Rainbow in the seventies and eighties and on to the renaissance rock of Blackmore's Night, Ritchie has proved that he is a master of the guitar across a multitude of styles. For the first time "The Ritchie Blackmore Story" tells the story of his remarkable career.

G3 "Live In Tokyo"

G3, a guitar supergroup that features top-tier shredders Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and John Petrucci, is a guitar-lover's dream come true, as heard on their latest DVD release Live In Tokyo. The trio of guitarist's usual high energy is cranked up even higher on this live Tokyo date, and the amount of heavy riffing and blistering leads throughout the set is mightily ferocious. Petrucci, who rose to prominence in the progressive metal band Dream Theater, distinguishes himself here, and proves that his six-string skills are on par with revered axe-slinging of Vai and Satriani.

Joe Satriani "Live In San Francisco"

Live In San Francisco features Joe Satriani in concert, and was recorded live at the Fillmore in San Francisco in December 2000. A special 2-DVD set, Satriani rocks out supported by Jeff Campitelli on drums, Eric Caudieux on keyboards and second guitar and the mighty Stu Hamm on bass. Guitar players everywhere will want to pick up this concert video, if nothing else, to get some up-close views of Satriani's hands as he surfs up and down the fretboard with the greatest of ease.

Joe Satriani "The Satch Tapes"

As with any overnight success story, there's more sweetness and sweat than meets the eye. This DVD, The Satch Tapes, explores Joe's up and coming days and provides a look into the development of a committed artist. While Joe talks candidly about the ups and downs of "making it" in the music business, The Satch Tapes presents a rare opportunity to get to know the reserved artist through his anecdotes on life and music.

G3 "Live In Denver"

In a sold-out tour running nationwide October through November 2003, the trio of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteeen put on their G3 show: three guitarists putting on a mega show to a crowd of awestruck guitar fans. Having achived tremendous success and critical praise in their own careers, this tour marked the first time the three influential guitarists have joined forces on the same stage. Live In Denver was filmed entirely at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, colorado on October 20, 2003, and features nearly two hours of heavy instrumental guitar work.

G3 "G3 Live In Concert"

The most influential rock instrumental guitarists of the past decade - Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson and Steve Vai - joined forces as G3 for a U.S. tour in October of 1996. It was an unprecedented event, as never before had these three premier guitarists appeared and toured together. G3 - Live In Concert was recorded on November 2nd, 1996, at the Northrop Auditorium in Minneapolis, MN.

Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet

When doctors diagnosed 19-year-old rock star Jason Becker with Lou Gehrig's Disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), they said he would never make music again and wouldn't live to see his 25th birthday. Twenty-two years later, without the ability to move or to speak, Jason is still alive and making music. With the help of modern technology, Jason uses his eyes to communicate and compose symphonies. Even though he has been robbed of his fingers and his speech, his brilliant mind never stops shredding!
