Meet Rene, the most wanted man in Occupied France. Women want his body. The Resistance want his brain. And the Nazis want his sausage! In a small café in Nouvion, the harassed proprietor is having a trying war. With the German army in residence in the bar, René is risking his neck to aid the Resistance by hiding two British airmen and a radio transmitter upstairs in his mother-in-laws bedroom. He is also involved in hiding the priceless painting of the Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies in a large sausage which even now is being sniffed out by the Gestapo.

Things are looking up for Rene Artois. The British airmen have finally escaped to England, Captain Bertorelli and his Italian troops have gone home, and the war is going badly for the Germans. Could this mean the return to a peaceful life? Not when Yvette announces she is pregnant! There is nothing for Rene to do except marry her. But first he must retrieve a compromising photo of Lieutenant Gruber with the painting of the Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies, which is mysteriously missing one booby.

Poor Rene. His only desire is for a peaceful life in his quiet cafe in Nouvion, France. The only difficult decision he wishes to make is which waitress to sneak off to the broom closet with for a quick cuddle. But ever since the war started, nothing is simple. As if it wasn't bad enough to be shot dead by the Germans, now the resistance wants to shoot him also and he must flee to, of all places, England!

Rene Artois is a simple man. He runs a quite cafe in Nouvion, France, and his only desire is to keep his trysts with the cafe's two beautiful waitresses secret from his wife. But ever since he was drafted by the Resistance to be hero of all France and was shot dead by the Germans, Rene's life is in constant turmoil. The Germans have captured the British airmen and only Rene can save them.

The lunacy of the fifth season of 'Allo, 'Allo! continues on this two-disc set (13 episodes plus cast bios and trailers), as beleaguered French cafe owner Rene Artois (the indefatigable British comedic actor Gordon Kaye) tries to keep his life in balance. No easy trick in occupied France--his town is crawling with unhinged Nazi officers; deadly serious but not necessarily brilliant French Resistance leaders; his semi-clueless wife, Edith (Carmen Silvera); and every waitress in his café who seems to have the hots for him. Zut!

For Rene, the end of the war just cannot come soon enough. Relying on a camera hidden inside a potato, a long distance duck, and of course, his unparalleled charm, he aids the French Resistance in their outlandish plots to fool the Germans and end the war. But if Rene doesn't marry Denise, the leader of the Communist Resistance, it could mean the end of him! With his trusty piano player at his side, Rene manages to escape a giant circular saw, blast his way into the bank's vault, and poison the team of Generals. Can Rene obtain the plans for the German invasion in time to save everyone?

Poor Rene. He was last seen in a prisoner of war camp, trapped with his wife and both mistresses, not to mention the two idiotic British airmen and Michelle, the hardest taskmaster of the Resistance. What's worse, Cafe Rene and its gin supply are in the unreliable hands of his mother-in-law. More hare-brained schemes, more cross-dressers, more sausages, more fractured accents, more double entendres - they're all part of the rich texture of this hugely popular sitcom from the BBC!

Rene runs a small cafe in France during World War II. He always seems to have his hands full: he's having affairs with most of his waitresses, he's keeping his wife happy, he's trying the please the German soldiers who frequent his cafe, and he's running a major underground operation for the resistance.

And now that he has been shot dead and is posing as his own twin brother, it appears he may have to woo her all over again and even remarry her in order to gain back his cafe, which he left to her in his will. But he has also promised to marry Yvette and Maria, his two sexy waitresses.

The central character of 'Allo 'Allo, a cafe owner in occupied France during World War II, is cowardly, venal, adulterous, and yet ineffably charming, thanks to the whimsical performance of Gorden Kaye. Rene (Kaye) helps the local Nazi commandant hide a valuable painting of a bare-breasted Madonna, helps the local Resistance hide British airmen until they can be smuggled back to England, and helps himself to the lovely charms of his two waitresses, Yvette (Vicki Michelle) and Maria (Francesca Gonshaw).
