Alex Martinho

Riding a blazing comet of shredded, high tech hard rock, Brazilian guitarist Alex Martinho released his self-titled debut CD in 1994, now recently remastered for rerelease. Martinho pulls out all the stops on the all instrumental disc, using knowledge acquired at the Guitar Institute of Technolgy in Hollywood to create a work still sought out by savvy instrumental rock fans. Real drums ((Redrigo Martinho) and a throbbing bass (Fabio Lessa) rhythm section anchor the CD, giving Martinho room to blaze and splay legato lines all over tracks such as "Horizontes" and "Viagem".

Electric Jam

Electric Jam is the end result of a single musician`s involvement with, and commitment to, the entire recording process from writing, performing and producing to manufacturing his instruments and modifying electronics. Sucre opens the CD with a self-described "space gong rocker", and continues with thirty minutes of melodic, high energy "tunage". Unlike a lot of guitarists releasing solo material, Sucre is not one to overplay, concentrating his efforts on sound textures and creating soulful, emotional songs.

Evolution

Influenced by major artists such as Van Halen, Rush, Joe Satriani and Dream Theater, Brazilian hard rock guitarist Alex Martinho has released his second CD, an all-instrumental, eleven track album entitled Evolution. Martinho peppers his compositions with wild, rock-inspired intensity, progressive tempo shifts, whammy slams, blistering open-string riffs - all delivered with knuckle-busting chops honed at the Guitar Institute in Hollywood.

Abraxas Pool

"Abraxas Pool" features the unmistakable blend of Latin percussion, soaring guitar, hard driving keyboards and powerful vocals, reuniting original members of the Santana band. Manning overdriven, sustained guitar is Neal Schon who trades off with keyboardist/organist Gregg Rolie on a number of tracks. Instrumental cuts such as "Szabo" and "Cruzin'" throb with heavy percussion and burning fretwork. Carlos himself hasn't put out as heavy material such as this in a number of years.
