Held to benefit Crossroads Centre, a drug treatment and education facility in Antigua founded by Clapton, each concert has become a jam session of Clapton's closest friends and music's biggest stars - where anything can unfold onstage.

Widely considered one of the world’s all-time greatest guitarists and known amongst his peers as a great collaborator, Eric Clapton organized the fifth installment of the Crossroads Guitar Festival. The Festival, which has become legendary in its own right for hosting performances and impromptu collaborations from the world’s most legendary guitar players, took place September 20-21, 2019 in the city that hosted the first-ever Crossroads Guitar Festival, Dallas Texas. Clapton gathered the past, present and future of guitar music onto one stage for an unparalleled musical event.

Eric Clapton assembled a who's who of guitar masters for his second stunning Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2007. Clapton invited old friends and new for the event in Chicago, with an all-star cast featuring Clapton, Steve Winwood, B.B. King, Robbie Robertson, Willie Nelson, Jeff Beck, Vince Gill, Sheryl Crow, Buddy Guy, Derek Trucks, John Mayer, Doyle Bramhall II, and more.

Rhino Entertainment captured every epic note from that blistering summer day in Chicago and will release over four hours in High Definition on Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010. Fans around the world will have a chance to experience many of the festival’s greatest moments including performances by Clapton, ZZ Top, Steve Winwood, B.B. King, Jeff Beck, Vince Gill, Sheryl Crow, Buddy Guy, John Mayer, Bill Murray, and many others as well as behind-the-scenes footage and candid interviews with the performers. In June 2004, some of the greatest living guitar players and their bands gathered at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas, for a three-day festival to benefit the Crossroads Centre in Antigua. Crossroads Guitar Festival was the ultimate concert for any music lover, featuring one legend after the other: Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Eric Johnson, James Taylor, Jimmie Vaughan, Joe Walsh, John Mayer, Robert Cray, Robert Randolph, Santana, ZZ Top, and many more. This 2-DVD set beautifully documents the event and contains almost four hours of content.

One by one, the musicians climb on stage and take their places: B. B. King, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Bonnie Raitt, Jimmie Vaughan, Dr. John and Art Neville. Vaughan, standing at center stage, launches into "Six Strings Down," a moving tribute to his late brother, Stevie Ray, whose memory has drawn this group together.

It was a night when the legends played, when English Blues met Chicago and Memphis Blues, and something magical happened. One hot night in June, 1982 at New Jersey's Capitol Theater, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, featuring Mick Taylor on lead guitar and Colin Allen on drums, paid homage to and were joined by five blues immortals: Albert King, Etta James, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells and 83-year-old Sippie Wallace. Each of the blues greats was backed by the Bluesbreakers, resulting in some amazing musical moments.
